How do I get referred?

We accept referrals from all areas throughout the UK. There are two methods of referral as we accept both private and NHS funded.

Self referral can be made when you are paying for the service yourself. Simply phone for a free telephone consultation to ensure you are suitable for FES treatment. We can then offer you an appointment for assessment and trial with the stimulator.

NHS Funded Simply phone for a free initial telephone consultation

If you are suitable we will then advise you to:
  • Contact your doctor to ensure he feels that the treatment is appropriate for you
  • Local funding requests are submitted by your doctor or consultant
  • The Nice guidance say that “FES can be offered routinely as a treatment option for people with Foot Drop caused by damage to the brain or spinal cord” if the doctor feels it is appropriate.
  • We will be able to offer you an appointment once we have received a referral from your doctor confirming funding approval
  • We will be happy to assist in your application where possible.
